Welcome to the Winter School on Mobile Exploration and the IPP Annual Fall Presentations
The Earth functions as a system with multiple feedbacks, environment and development challenges are intricately interlinked, and social and economic sectors interlink with environmental issues in various ways.

In the context of rapid changes of our planet Earth, explosive population growth, accelerating industrialization, especially in the emerging countries, increasing exploitation of resources, serious natural hazards, recent natural disasters, and, importantly, the growing number of complex systems interacting with their environments, the
Siegen Winter School on Mobile Exploration
addresses the ever more significant problem of scientifically and technologically exploring and monitoring environments to provide scientists with deeper insights and better understanding of the “System Earth” and to provide politicians and decision makers with more sophisticated information. Experts the fields of remote and insitu exploration as well as multi sensor data processing and the members of the International Postgraduate Programme Multi Sensorics and the Research School on Multi Modal Sensor Systems for Environmental Exploration and Safety (MOSES) will present their recent works and results in the fields of:
- Remote Sensing with mono and bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Systems
- 2D/3D Imaging with Photonic Mixer Device Technolgy
- TeraHertz Sensing and Imaging
- Navigation and Localisation
- Mobile Robotics
- Radar and Tracking
- Sensor Information Processing and Information Mining
- ...
