For three decades ZESS has been and still is an interdisciplinary research hub, combining expertise from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
We host fundamental as well as applied research projects, actively pursuing interdisciplinary joint research on sensor system development and algorithmic approaches to analyze the resulting data, with machine learning playing a major role.
Transfer Hub
The ZESS Transfer Hub supports transfer activities of ZESS members and serves as a contact point for external parties, both academic and industrial, interested in research transfer.
From decades of activities, we provide valuable contacts and rich expertise in the areas of industry-academic partnerships, IP-related activities and prospective start-ups.
Graduate and Postgraduate
From the beginning, graduate and postgraduate education was at the core of ZESS. Over the years we have assembled a long list of successful formats, ranging from a DFG funded research training group over a European Training Network to a european joint master programme.
