External Advisory Board Meeting
On 28 November the ZESS family gathered for the traditional pre-Christmas External Advisory Board meeting where we presented our academic achievments and the very sucessful third party funding activities of the last year. Same as in 2024, we were especially happy that both the rector of the University of Siegen, Prof Dr Stefanie Reese, and the dean of the faculty, Prof Dr Holger Schönherr were present to voice their support for ZESS.
At this opportunity we could also introduce our three new associated ZESS members Prof Dr Jasmin Grosinger, Jun-Prof Dr Jovita Lukasik and Prof Daniel O’Hagan to the board and present three of our latest larger research projects: (1) Kiwi@Siwi, (2) PIA – Progressive, Spatio-Temporal Consistent Inline Activity Reconstruction and Recognition, and (3) WISENT.

Lastly, we are very grateful that the membership of our external advisory board has not only been very stable over the years, which is incredibly valuable as the group sports some of the most respected researchers from the fields related to sensor systems in Germany, namely Prof Dr Giovanni Del Galdo (TU Ilmenau), Prof Dr Andreas Dreizler (TU Darmstadt), speaker Prof Dr Peter Eisert (HU Berlin), Prof Dr Dirk Heberling (RWTH Aachen/Director Fraunhofer FHR), Prof Dr Inka Müller (HS Bochum), and co-speaker Prof Dr Klaus Schilling (University of Würzburg).
