VDI Siegen Chapter Awards Prizes to Two ZESS Students

The Siegen chapter of the Association of German Engineers (VDI) has awarded two bachelor and three master theses from the field of engineering with the 2023 prize. Two out of the five recipients worked at Univ.-Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peter Kraemer‘s chair on ZESS projects.

Congratulations Marvin Hebel (4th from right, Master thesis on „Aufbau eines Modells für nichtlineare Kraftelemente mit Hysterese zur Anwendung in Mehrkörpersimulationen mit Simpak“) and Benedikt Wüllner (3rd from right, Bachelor Thesis on „Modellierung einer Rollendrehvorrichtung und Entwicklung von Regelstrategien zur Driftkompensation von zylindrischen Bauteilen”).

Dr. Jan Söhlke is the head of communication and staff photographer at ZESS, as well as the Scientific Coordinator for the DFG Research Unit 'Learning to Sense' (FOR 5336).

Following his doctoral studies at LMU Munich, he moved into science communication and the visual documentation of research environments. His work focuses on photographing complex scientific setups and high-tech infrastructure - translating engineering and academic projects into clear visual assets.
