The German Research Foundation (DFG) funds the research unit “Learning to Sense” for a second phase of four years. Through the joint development of innovative sensors and corresponding AI software, the research unit is conducting pioneering scientific work with great…
A major success for AI research in Siegen: ZESS member Jun-Prof Dr Jovita Lukasik has secured funding under the prestigious Emmy Noether Programme run by the German Research Foundation (DFG). Up to now, the development of a neural network has…
The DFG research unit 5336 “Learning to Sense”, which is hosted at ZESS, had a very robust retreat at Mannheim castle last week. We were joined by friends and colleagues from adjacent fields, ensuring massive input/massive output (MIMO). Thanks everybody…
Official website: As part of its strategic funding initiative in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), the German Research Foundation (DFG) will be funding eight new research units—including one at the University of Siegen. The “Learning to Sense” project,…
High quality models are the basis for most sophisticated methods in e.g., prediction, simulation, optimization, control, fault detection and diagnosis. System identification is concerned with the estimation of dynamic models from finite, noisy measurement data. Typically, system identification is applied…
DFG project on Deep Models for Handheld Light Field Acquisition Dr. Paramanand Chandramouli received a DFG funding for his project on “Deep Models for Handheld Light Field Acquisition”. He will be hosted by the Computer Graphics Chair at University’s Center…
